The Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS) has deployed 1,314 personnel across the 44 local government areas of Kano State to enhance security during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The State Commander of the NFSS, Abdullahi Al’ameen, disclosed this in an interview with journalists on Wednesday in Kano.
He said the personnel had been strategically stationed at major roads, prayer grounds, markets and other public places to maintain order and support relevant agencies during the festive period.
According to him, the command will collaborate with the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other sister agencies to strengthen security across the state before, during and after the celebrations.
“The deployment is part of proactive measures to safeguard lives and property, as well as ensure hitch-free movement of residents and visitors during the Sallah festivities.
“We have mobilised our personnel to all 44 local government areas to provide security coverage during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations,” he said.
Al’ameen reaffirmed the commitment of the service to support government efforts towards maintaining peace and security in the state.
