The Executive Chairman of the Kano State Pension Fund Trustees, Alhaji Habu Muhammad Fagge, has described Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as “a leader with a difference” whose uncommon leadership style has continued to transform the state since assuming office in 2023.
In a congratulatory message to mark the governor’s successful completion of three years in office, Fagge said Yusuf’s visionary leadership and commitment to good governance had played a significant role in steering the affairs of Kano State.
According to him, the administration is anchored on the principles of fairness, inclusiveness and equitable distribution of the dividends of democracy. He said this was evident in the execution of developmental projects across various sectors and communities in the state.
“Since assuming office, Governor Yusuf has initiated and implemented policies that have brought remarkable transformations in education, healthcare, infrastructure development and security,” Fagge stated.
He added that the administration had also promoted unity by building bridges across political, social and ideological divides to ensure lasting peace and harmony in the state.
The pension boss further cited the payment of N32 billion out of the N48 billion backlog of gratuities owed to retirees as one of the administration’s landmark achievements, describing it as an unprecedented feat in the history of Kano.
“No previous administration was able to address the gratuity backlog on this scale. This demonstrates the governor’s commitment to the welfare of retirees and the people of Kano State,” he said.
While congratulating the governor on the peaceful and hitch-free celebration of Eid-el-Kabir across the state, Fagge urged residents to continue praying for the progress of Kano, live peacefully with one another and respect constituted authority.
He also called on the people of the state to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the present administration to enable it achieve its developmental objectives.
