The Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has said his office remains open to advice and constructive suggestions that will contribute to the development and progress of the state.
Garo stated this on Monday while receiving the leadership of the Kano State chapter of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in his office.
The deputy governor expressed appreciation for the delegation’s visit and their commendation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for allocating 27 Hajj seats to members of JIBWIS during the recently concluded 2026 Hajj exercise.
According to him, the gesture reflects the governor’s commitment to supporting religious institutions in promoting Islamic teachings and practices in line with the Sunnah.
“This demonstrates the governor’s commitment to supporting religious institutions in promoting the teachings and practice of Islam in accordance with the Sunnah,” Garo said.
Earlier, the Chairman of JIBWIS in Kano State, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the deputy governor on his appointment and pray for the success of the administration.
Prof. Pakistan, a former Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), prayed for Allah’s guidance and wisdom for both the deputy governor and Governor Yusuf in the discharge of their responsibilities.
“I pray for Allah’s guidance in your new position, alongside Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,” he said.
He described Garo as a loyal, dedicated and exemplary leader worthy of emulation.
The JIBWIS chairman also requested the deputy governor to convey the group’s appreciation to Governor Yusuf for granting the organisation 27 Hajj seats during the recently concluded pilgrimage.
“We equally appreciate the governor for fostering unity among the various Islamic groups in the state and promoting peaceful coexistence,” he added.
While praying for sustained peace, stability and security in Kano State and Nigeria at large, Prof. Pakistan assured the administration of the group’s continued support through prayers and constructive advice to ensure the success of Governor Yusuf’s administration.
