Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has commended the Community Reorientation Council (CRC) for its contributions to school feeding programmes, school renovations, early childhood education support, healthcare services, water projects and other community development initiatives across the state.
Garo made the commendation on Thursday while receiving CRC leaders from the 44 local government areas of Kano State who paid him a courtesy visit at his office to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor and to extend Eid-el-Kabir greetings.
He described the CRC as a vital grassroots structure that has continued to complement government efforts in delivering social services and improving the living conditions of citizens.
“I appreciate this visit and the opportunity to meet with old partners. I recognize your efforts in feeding programmes, school renovations, support for early childhood education, rehabilitation of hospitals, water projects and other community development initiatives,” the deputy governor said.
He assured the delegation that their concerns would be conveyed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, adding that the state government would address them.
Garo also expressed confidence that the council would sustain its developmental interventions across Kano State.
“I am confident that you will continue these sacrifices, which will not go unnoticed throughout Kano State,” he added.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the CRC, Alhaji Shakoor Yassar, said the visit was aimed at congratulating the deputy governor on his emergence and extending Eid-el-Kabir greetings.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the deputy governor for their support and concern for CRC members across the state.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to meet with Your Excellency and we pray for the success of your administration,” Yassar said.
He noted that the council had continued to implement interventions in education, healthcare and social welfare, and appealed for sustained government support to strengthen its grassroots operations.
