Politics which a term defines it as war without bloodshed, devoid of hesitation, it will continue to retain its name going by what usually occurs in a given environment whenever election is around the corner.
As the Gubernatorial polls in South South State of Edo will be held in September, the tug of war that consumed the opposition Apc during the past which led to the defection of Governor Obaseki to opposition PDP four years ago which caused them the state is now resurfacing and if the situation is not normalized before it degenerate the story will be hard to tell.
The reason is that as not less than forty aspirants among party members have shown interest in the coveted Governorship seat of the old Bendel State, the state party office had axed part of the suitors notable among them Pastor Eze Iyamu.
If one could recall, Eze Iyamu was the party’s flagbearer during previous election way back in 2020.
The development did not go down well with the views and perception of a portion of party members in the state as a result of the popularity of the politician and as such will be easy to sell unlike new face that it would take time or pretty hard to sell to the general
While speaking on the matter, Director Publicity of the party Malam Bala Muhammad said there is no case for alarm as far as the party is concerned.
He explained that they are as good as clinching the seat from the ruling party.
He pointed out that the problem being talked about is something one cannot rule out in politics as according to him is part of the game whenever election is fast approaching but they would do the utmost in putting their house in order before the time reaches.
Digressing to PDP he said they are also having their own challenges most especially the one between the state Governor and his Deputy which he said is far more tedious than that of their party.
He however expressed optimism that in no distant time they would arrest the rift as they are working on it calling on party faithful to be calmed as efforts have since reached advance stage in recapturing the state come September polls
