Kano state Commissioners are presently grasping in fear of the unknown over the impending cabinet restructure of the present administration of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf.
Governor Yusuf on 13th February, directed the office of the Secretary to the State government to issue an evaluation notice to all the 18 commissioners under his cabinet.
The assessment forms, according to a statement by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sanusi Bature, were expected to be filled and submitted within ten days.
The purpose of the evaluation template, Sanusi stressed, was intended to retain performing Commissioners and subsequently relieve those who underperformed their entrusted duties.
According to Sanusi, the directive was based on a policy of Gov. Yusuf’s administration made known at the swearing-in of the Commissioners to evaluate their performance every six months to ensure quality service delivery.
Although, the office of the Governor, has remained silent 6 days after the expiration of the demands, there are growing indications several commissioners are already nursing imminent eviction.
Stakeholders have observed the impact of a few commissioners who have made tremendous strides in their areas of primary assignments.
