The Emir of Karaye of Kano State Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II has extolled Ƙiru District for being the first for to launch Waqaf foundation among the five selected Districts of the Emirate and the state in general.
The Emir said the launching ceremony of Ƙiru local government chapter of Waqaf Foundation came at the right time considering the hardship the have not in the society are going through due to cost of living in the country.
This was reveal in a statement issued and signed by Malam Haruna Gunduwawa, Information Officer.Karaye Emirate Council.
Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II expresses his happiness to the organizers especially the District Head of Ƙiru Danmadami of Karaye Alhaji Garba Alhaji as well as all those contributed to the foundation, enjoined other District of Emirates to emulate adding that as the holy month Ramadan is past approaching, the foundation will greatly assist the needles in the area.
In his remarks at the occasion the Chief launcher of the Appeal Funds Kano South Senator Alhaji Sulaiman Abdul- Rahman Kawu Sama’ila who was represented by Barrister Auwalu Kofa thanked the organizers of the occasion for their honesty, dedication and commitments towards the realization of foundation.
Senator Kawu Sama’ila charged wealthy individuals in the to generously donate to the foundation to the set goals.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Member representing Ƙiru local government in the State House of Assembly Honourable Usman Tasi’u Rabula tasked the stakeholders of the Waqaf to more committed for the Challenges ahead.
Earlier, the Chairman Board Trustee of the Waqaf Foundation the District Head of Ƙiru Danmadami of Karaye Alhaji Garba Alhaji Said, the establishment of the Waqaf Foundation was facilitated by a Uk Supported Organization FOC LAFIYA PROJECT.
Alhaji Garba Alhaji explained that, apart from Local government level Committee, sub Committees were also established across twenty four villages of the area.
The Board of Trustee Chairman assured the Foundation is meant to assist Orphans, Old persons and other common people.
Over thirteen million , six hundred and twenty nine thousands naira were realized as donation at the occasion with highest donation of two million five hundred thousand from the member representing Bebeji/ Ƙiru in the national Assembly Honourable Jibril Abdulmumini kofa and two million naira from Chief launcher Senator Abdul-Rahman Kawu Sama’ila.
Other donors include Honourable Usman Tasi’u Rabula one million naira, Chairman, Secretary and members of the Board of Trustee three million two hundred and eighty thousand naira, Village Heads of the area two million six hundred and two thousand seven hundred eighty naira.
While the Dangaladima of Karaye pledged to provide clothes and feeding of accessed Orphans in the area.
