There is no doubt about it that Kano is a hub of soccer enthusiasts right from the time immemorial
Thus at present, spectators from far and wide thronged Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata whenever their beloved Kano Pillars is playing no matter what team is playing in either English premier league in or Spanish La Liga to watch the local competition.
This is something that cannot be obtained in most parts of the country particularly at this period that there economic situation is unbearable.
Sincerely speaking, this is something marvelous and worthy of emulation as it clearly shows how Kano usually leads while others follow in all facets of human endeavoours.
But one thing that is itching the hearts and minds of concerned citizenry was the failure to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship in our minds whenever the game was not in our favour.
Just last Monday when Pillars lost by alone goal to visiting Abia Warriors at their home based Sani Abacha Stadium it took the police several hours with the help of tear gas to disperse fanatical supporters that attempted to mishandled the match officials for what they termed biased officiating that caused them the vital points.
But as God is immortal on Saturday afternoon at Yakubu Gowon Stadium Portharcourt, the pyramid city Lads pulled a one all draw against Rivers United and nothing happened as the visiting team left the pitch unscathed.
Similar example occurred in the first phase of the event when the Kano boys played a barren draw against Bendel Insurance of Benin but the following, week went to Pantami Stadium and whipped Gombe United five goals to one something that is yet to happen in the current event.
This is what some of our fans failed to understand as nothing is permanent in football being manufactured in two different colours black and white definitely as you will win today otherwise will be the story another day.
Based on the development, there is the urgent need for the fans to always be good loosers as football is not a field of battle but rather a pitch of preaching the gospel of mutual understanding, love and cordial relationship between teams and supporters as it has been the case in advanced countries.
As we wish the club emphatic victory this Wednesday against Rangers at home our fervent call for the supporters is to behave gently and uphold decorum when the going is tough as Pillars is now in the eye of the needle hence the need to be cautious and above all learn from our past eroors in the spirit of just and fairness speedy progression of the side.
