Interim Management Officers have been enjoined to accord health sector special attention.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, made the call shortly after monitoring polio vaccination in Kiru and adjacent Bebeji Local Government Area.
He said this became necessary in view of the paramount importance of the field ,
The medical practitioner explained that nobody could dispute the fact that health is wealth as nothing could be practical in its absence.
He further urged them to ensure all eligible children across the 44 LGAs are fully vaccinated against poliomyelitis as the ministry and other stakeholders are on top gear to see to the tremendous success of the exercise.
Dr. Labaran thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unflinching support to the sector hoping he would remain tireless.
The physician expressed delight on the way and manner the exercise was conducted going by the large turn out coupled with support and cooperation by the general in the two neighbouring Areas.
He urged the people to redouble the number in subsequent exercises so as to ensure the total eradication of the virus which he said has been causing socio economic quagmire to the broader environment for decades
