Ties between two allies Governor Uba Sani and his predecessor Malam Nasiru El Rufa”i is deteriorating by the day.
The rift which started when the present Governor blamed Malam Nasiru of handing over to him a debt ridden administration at a Town Hall meeting which generated a lot of noise within the state and beyond hence caused split among members of the ruling APC in the state.
The matter has even led to suspension of some faithful loyal to the immediate past Governor for calling Senator Uba Dani with unprintable names.
To this end, the state parliament has appointed a committee saddled with responsibility of examining financial impropriety perpetrated during the previous Government in the last eight years.
The committee will monitor contract executions, loans, grants and other financial dealings and submit its report before the Legislature.
According to the House, the appointment of the committee was not aimed at witch hunting but rather to separate the chaff from the grains with a view to bringing to an end the too much insinuation on the issue.
A proverbial statement says when two Elephants fight is the grass that suffers.
