Kano vigilante office has expressed delight over the peaceful conduct of Eid El fitr festivities in the metropolis.
Commander of the organization Alhaji Shehu Rabiu made the expression in an interview with newsmen
He pointed out that for the first time in many years there was less report of mobile phone snatching and other criminality during the festive period likewise in fighting between groups unlike recently
Alhaji Shehu Rabiu attributed the development to the effort of current administration of Engineer Abba Kabiru Yusuf and his able lieutenants especially his Deputy and speaker of the state Assembly over their level of tenacity
The commander also lauded the existing rapport between the volunteers and security outfits in Kano which according to him helped seriously in maintaining relative peace in the state
He used the chance to call on the larger society not to rest on their oars in feeding them with stories on hideouts of criminals in their midst so as to arrest them
Alhaji Shehu Rabiu, hailed his subordinates over their level of loyalty charging them to keep the flag flying with a view to proving cynics wrong
The commander enjoined fellow parents to guard against pampering their children going by the consequences of doing so
Turning to youth he urged them to look for available ways of earning their means if livelihood rather than roaming about streets and offices looking for assistance as has been the case in most societies nowadays
