Definitely, as the Nigeria”s top flight is at the tail end of conclusion there is much hue and cry over what may be the position of Pillars at the end of the event
This may not be unconnected with how the team just of recent found itself in much difficulty that to suffering two defeats at their home ground and beside that here and there internal squabble among the set up of the club which led to much accusations in that respect if action is not taken will cause a major problem before the club in the on going season
It is on record that for the three time Masu Gida were demoted to the lower cadre since the commencement of the event as early as 1990, there was no a time they spent more than a season in the second class
This would be attributed to determination, sacrifice, dedication and commitment of both the players, coaching crew and supporters of the team
But as things are going at present, the situation is trying to change for bad as the league progresses
The problem apart from the aforementioned comprise outstanding matches some of the clubs are having like Rivers United and Niger Tornadoes which their margin with the pyramid city side is not all that wide hence the need for the team to sit up in the battle with a view to proving doubters wrong
This will not be impractical as far as the club is concerned as it has all what it takes to shield itself from facing another debacle
This became necessary as Pillars in view of its overwhelming popularity is the cynosure of all eyes in Nigeria’s local soccer circle
My advice to coach Abdul Maikaba and his subordinates is to do all what they could in cleaning all their home matches and secure at least two draws in their away matches so as to stay comfortably in the elite class next season when they would give a good account of themselves when all its intricacies were overhauled
Frankly speaking, as it a fact that freshers in a competition usually fail to perform excellently in their first season until they settled
Devoid of hesitation, thiis is how the situation is even in the advanced soccer countries like England, Spain, Italy, Germany France among others
Thus , as we wish the team well we do hope the Fans team will wake up in offering ceaseless supplications with a view to ensuring the ends justify the means
So long
