Chairman Kano State Independent Electoral Commission Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi says the fee for upcoming polls in Kano wil remain l unchanged
The Chairman made the declaration while responding to questions from a team of journalists under the Chairmanship of Correspondent Chapel of the State Wing of Nigeria Union of Journalists Comrade Sani Garko
He stressed that there is no way such amount could be reduced going by the inflationary trend countrywide which according to him made things unbearable
The fire brand Academic in his word posited that if States like Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, that are small in size and population than Kano could fix such amount why not we that we have large number of people and land mass he queried
Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi added that a state like Kano that has six million voters, four hundred and eighty four wards and about thirty thousand ad-hoc staffers to be employed during the exercise to be sincere the amount is not all that alarming if one could be just and crystal clear
He regretted the root of the complaint by certain group of politicians not minding what they have been spending on frivolities during the election aimed at convincing the electorate to vote their parties describing such noise as unbecoming
The Chairman pledged to stand firm in ensuring fairness is done to all those that will contest the polls as he has been saying
He however thanked the members of the pen industry for their zeal and commitment in coming to the office aimed at clarifying the issue stressing that their existing relation will continue to be cordial
Professor Sani Lawal Malumfashi maintained that his door will remain open in shedding light on matters pertaining how the conduct of November thirtieth Election will look like as according to him they were appointed specifically for the task and hence vowed to be impartial arbiters and not to be distracted in that regard by certain claims and objections
Earlier the Head of the team Comrade Sani Garko, said they were at the office to clarify speculation making the round that some parties may boycot the November polls as a result of the exorbitant fee fixed by the Electoral body
He however thanked the Chairman over his splendid explanation and warm reception accorded them hoping it would wax stronger
