Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has denied selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) at N898 per litre, describing the claim as “misleading and mischievous”.
In a statement by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, said the claim by NNPCL’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, was aimed at undermining the milestone achievement in addressing energy insufficiency and insecurity.
Dangote clarified that it sold the petroleum products to NNPCL in dollars, not naira, with significant savings compared to current imports.
The company urged Nigerians to disregard the malicious statement and await a formal announcement on pricing by the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commencing October 1, 2024.
Dangote, assured Nigerians of quality petroleum products and an end to endemic fuel scarcity, with petrol available in every local government area.
