A town hall meeting primarily to discuss the council’s budget for next financial year was staged in MADOBI Local Government Area
The Key objectives of the gathering was to review the subject matter aimed at ensuring alignment with the community’s needs and priorities, as well as to promote transparency and accountability in the budgeting process
This without iota of doubt, will give residents the ample chance to participate fully in their governance.
Earlier, the Head of Planning Research and Statistics Department of the Council, Alhaji Ado Abdulrahman Stressed that the dialogue provided a platform for inhabitants to contribute their own quota to the decision-making process, and above all shape a linkage between the government and the governed with a view to upholding a mutual rapport
Also Speaking, the representative of Commissioner for local and Chieftaincy Affairs who is the State Deputy the Deputy Director PRS Alhaji Yunusa Abbas explained that, the State Government has been actively engaging with citizens through such colloquium so as to ensure transparency and accountability thrive
He added that the forum demonstrate government’s commitment in involving citizens in decision-making process so as not to be left behind in the scheme of things
On his part, the Chairman of the Council, Hon Suleiman Dan Azumi emphasized the importance of citizens participation in the budgeting process , encouraging attendees to provide feedback and suggestions so as to ensure the ends justify the means
The Chairman outlined priority areas for the upcoming 2025 budget encompassing infrastructural development,education , Healthcare delivery ,and economic empowerment.
In his address District Head of the Chiefdom , Maji Dadin Kano Alhaji Baba Musa Saleh Kwankwaso expressed appreciation over the turn out and urged the Council to work in tandem with Traditional Heads to attain set goals
