Present administration in Kano is eveready in tackling challenges facing the malnourished children across the larger society
Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency Alhaji Isyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi gave the assurance while welcoming a team from State Office Scaling of Malnutrition in the Society CSUNs on an advocacy visit
He commended them over their effort in saving the lives of the minors hoping they would be more determined.
Alhaji Isyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi explained that the issue of malnutrition is not something that will be taken lightly in view of the casualty it has been causing to the future of the society on yearly basis in
The Executive Secretary maintained that Engineer Abba Kabiru Yusuf being a leader that is more concern to the plight of his people has vowed to use his wire withal aimed at bringing to an end the matter going by tragedy it has been causing to parents
He pointed out that based on this , about 633 million Naira had since been set aside in next year’s budget with a view to fighting the calamity once and for all.
Alhaji Isyaku Abdullahi Kubarachi expressed firm believe that the funds will be released promptly as according to him anything pertaining health could not be toyed with
In his address the Acting Programme Manager from Abuja,Mr Kunle Ishola, expressed delight over how Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf endorsed the release of 500 Million Naira for the acquisition of multiple Micro Nutrient Supplement otherwise called MMS and Child Nutrition Fund which according to him is a counter Fund courtesy of the Government and UNICEF.
The visitor moreover solicited for the creation of Nutrition Departments across Government organizations and the approval of six month maternity leave for pregnant mothers from the earlier three months with full payment of their salaries and other benefits
Similarly , the acting program manager from Abuja sought for the hike in budgetary spending for Nutrition activities and cash backing in Government Departments, Agencies and Parastatals with a view to ensuring quick quarterly filling of appraisal forms by the afformentioned Public outfits as performance management system
Earlier,the State Coordinator of the outfit Hajiya Zainab Ali Musa said the visit was borne out of their determination to solicit support and join hands with present administration in saving the lives of babies dying due to what she said will be checked with utmost political will and steadfastness.
She described as regrettable despite the fact that Kano is unarguably the most vibrant city across the north but huge number children were bedridden across major health facilities due to malnutrition
Hajiya Zainab Ali Musa however hope the Executive Secretary would use his good office in ensuring the early release of the counter fund as captured in the budget as it has widely been acknowledged that Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf is a leader per excellence
She lauded him over the warm reception accorded the team hoping the existing relation will wax stronger
The outfit which was founded ten years ago with offices across 28 states was established with the sole aim of curtailing the rate of children dying as a result of malnutrition which led to Anaemia.
The team had earlier paid a call to state ministry of Finance,Women Affairs and Water Resources
At the aforementioned places, they similarly sought for additional support and cooperation for the realization of their goal of ensuring a wholesome, virile,energetic children across the society
Responding ,heads of the offices unanimously agreed to do the needful in achieving set objective
Tense of the occasion was the presentation of gifts to Executive officers of the outfits
