The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
Danbappa announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 25, 2026, and personally signed by him.
In the letter, he formally conveyed his withdrawal from office, citing recent political developments within his party as the reason for the move.
According to him, the evolving political situation necessitates a realignment of his focus and commitments.
“As a devoted member of the Kwankwasiyya movement, I remain unwaveringly loyal to our leader, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and fully committed to the ideals and objectives of our political movement,” he stated.
He explained that stepping aside from the position was taken in the interest of preserving party unity and supporting the strategic direction required in the current political landscape.
The former DG expressed profound appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the confidence and opportunity given to him to serve as head of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, describing his tenure as an honour.
“It has been a privilege to serve in this capacity, and I am proud of the achievements recorded in enhancing pilgrims’ welfare and strengthening the Board’s operational effectiveness,” he noted.
Danbappa also thanked Allah (SWT), members of the Board, and the entire staff of the agency for their cooperation, support, and dedication throughout his time in office.
