Over five hundred people from different localities across Garko Local Government Area have sipped from the fruit of Democratic Governance courtesy of the benevolence of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf
Speaking in a joyous mood at the event which entails the presentation of hundred motorcycles and start ups capitals Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning Alhaji Abdul Jabbar Umar Garko described the occasion as epic explaining that the largesse was a right not a privilege as some people may think
The Commissioner who recalled a proverbial statement kindness begets kindness, maintained that the present was borne out of how the people defied scorching sun in voting the present administration to power as early as two years ago
Alhaji Abdul Jabbar Umar who said the generosity was just a tip of the iceberg ,saluted the state Governor for the continuation of the area’s five Kilometre road project, upgrading their hospital, building of a modern market likewise construction of an earth dam for irrigation aimed at ensuring food sustainability and curbing idleness and rural urban drift among youths and the elderly
The Commissioner tagged Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf as kindhearted and righteous leader and enjoined the electorate to re elect him come 2027 for the continuation of people oriented programmes, policies and projects
The youthful, amiable consequential, courageous and considerate commissioner which I will not be misquoted if I describe him as the youngest ever to steer the outfit since the creation of Kano as early as 1967 cautioned fellow youths against indulging into nefarious activities but always look for reliable means or avenues of earning their means of livelihood so as to become shining lights in the midst of the generality
While speaking, the Adviser to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Political matters,Alhaji Hamza Buhari fondly called Bakwana, reaffirmed that the state Governor is as good as reclaiming his seat come next year in view of his massive people centred projects and programmes across the nooks and crannies of the state
He maintained that all the aspersions and vituperation on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf by some frustrated individuals, were doing so out of envy and jealousy hence will serve as spring board of attaining speedy progression in the art of governance
He however described the Governor as first among equals across the federation stressing that his projects were akin to some of his predecessors including late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje
He enjoined voters statewide to vote wisely during future polls so as to guard against regret
Alhaji Hamza Buhari Bakwana , seized the medium to passionately send an appeal to Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on the need to join forces with the team with a view to ensuring a more prosperous,peaceful and developed Kano as according to him what they have been doing was for the speedy socio economic development of the state not for selfish or materialistic gains
Earlier, the chief host, Chairman of Garko Local Government Council,Comrade Saminu Abdullahi Garko described Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as an emancipator,Messiah and redeemer enjoining him to keep the flag flying for the good of one and all
Digressing to the empowerment programme he described it as a super initiative tagging the State Commissioner for Land as a living template urging others to emulate the superb example in the interest of justice and fairness
On his part, the District Head of the Chiefdom Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu, extolled Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing sons and daughters of the Area on key governmental offices as well as executing monumental projects across the domain notable among them the earth dam which will definitely boost food availability across the area and adjacent local governments as well as mitigate restiveness and joblessness
He cautioned those who benefitted from the largesse encompassing youths, workers ,ulamas, traditional title holders, women and the old to use the gift accordingly rather than on frivolity
