Barau FC secured a vital away point on Saturday, 21 March 2026, after a goalless draw with Wikki Tourist in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/2026 season.
The clash, played at the New Jos Stadium, saw both northern sides create numerous chances, but neither could find the back of the net. The result mirrors their first-round encounter in Kano, which also ended 0–0.
Barau FC continued to impress with their determination, with striker Muhammad Umar coming close on several occasions, while substitute Henry Ezeonye also tried to break the deadlock.
Goalkeeper Chisom Chiaha was the star for the Maliya Boys, making crucial saves to extend his run to five consecutive clean sheets.
The draw lifts Barau FC into the top ten of the NPFL table, moving to 41 points from 31 matches, as they strengthen their bid for a strong finish this season.
Reacting after the match, Barau FC Technical Adviser Eugene Agagbe said:
“We thank God for the result. The injuries we suffered in the first half affected our chances. We take it one match at a time, and our focus is now on our next home clash against Katsina United. We believe we will secure victory.”
Barau FC will host Katsina United in a Northwest derby on Sunday, 28 March 2026, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, by 4:00 pm.
