Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening security across the state, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority.
The Governor made this assertion today while receiving the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who paid him the traditional Sallah homage at the Government House, alongside a delegation of district heads and other members of the Emirate Council.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Kano by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Represented by the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Isma’il Jibril Falgore, Governor Yusuf noted that his administration recognizes the critical role of peace and stability in driving sustainable development.
He assured that proactive measures are being implemented to enhance the state’s security architecture, strengthen collaboration with security agencies, and promote community-based initiatives aimed at curbing crime and maintaining law and order across Kano State.
The Governor also urged parents to focus on raising their children properly in order to build a society grounded in strong values and to nurture responsible and exemplary future leaders.
He further commended the Emir and the traditional institution for their continuous support in fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, and effective communication between the government and the grassroots.
In his remarks, the Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, commended the state government for its achievements in the education sector and called for increased efforts in the areas of healthcare and youth empowerment.
Emir Sanusi reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional institution to supporting government efforts in maintaining peace and stability, and pledged continued cooperation in mobilizing communities and promoting values that discourage criminal activities and social unrest.
The Sallah homage, a longstanding tradition symbolizing mutual respect and cooperation between the government and traditional authorities, also provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on matters of governance, security, and the overall well-being of the people.
