The Kano State Government has expressed appreciation to residents for the warm and historic reception accorded Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on his return from Abuja, where he attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention.
In a statement, the government described the large turnout of supporters at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and along major roads in the metropolis as a demonstration of the people’s enduring love, loyalty, and confidence in the governor’s leadership.
It noted that the show of solidarity, which caused hours-long traffic disruption in parts of the city, underscored the strong bond between the government and the people, as well as their shared commitment to the progress and unity of Kano State.
The government commended stakeholders and APC stalwarts, including party leaders, members, community leaders, youth and women groups, student unions, traders’ associations, and other well-wishers for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the reception.
It also lauded the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kano State chapter, led by its Chairperson, Hon. Sa’adatu Salisu Yusha’u, as well as local government chairmen, for their contributions to the success of the event.
The statement further appreciated commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, heads of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), and other government appointees for their support.
Governor Yusuf, the statement added, is humbled by the show of goodwill and remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy, strengthening unity, and accelerating development across all sectors.
The government urged residents to sustain the spirit of unity, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence as it continues efforts to advance the state’s development.
It reiterated its gratitude to the people of Kano for what it described as a memorable event symbolising people-driven governance and a shared destiny.
