Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has no political relevance in the state, describing the party as “dead on arrival” due to internal crises and lack of grassroots support.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
Governor Yusuf made the remark while addressing supporters in Kano shortly after returning from Abuja, where he attended a series of political engagements.
He said the ADC has been weakened by unresolved internal conflicts, which have significantly affected its structure and reduced its chances of making any meaningful impact in Kano’s political landscape.
According to him, the party also lacks the widespread acceptance and credibility required to compete effectively in the state.
The governor maintained that Kano remains firmly under the control of the ruling political structure, supported by the majority of the people.
He urged his supporters to remain united and committed to consolidating the achievements of his administration.
Yusuf also reiterated his administration’s commitment to governance and development, assuring residents that delivering on campaign promises remains a top priority.
He added that efforts are underway to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“We will rally solid support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and I am optimistic that the APC will, by the grace of God, win all elective positions in 2027,” he said.
The governor further noted that the state’s partnership with the Federal Government is already yielding positive results, particularly in infrastructure and social intervention programmes.
“We will deliver a landslide victory for the APC,” he added.
