Hordes of Nigerians have been expressing reservation over the recent statement by former President Muhammad Buhari before a gathering that he was happy over the removal of fuel subsidy by the current administration in the country.
They said after the serious injury he inflicted on the citizenry rather than to ask for their forgiveness over his Inaction and offer advice on how things will improve he failed to do so but instead expressed delight over the hike in oil price.
They enjoined him as he is an elder to always think before he utter statement in view of what may be the repercussion positing that for person like Muhammad Buhari to be expressing pleasure over a misdeed before a group of people that paid him a call amount to affront in view of the love and affection shown to him by the larger community.
Thus the need to always keep mute in matters of societal interest like his predecessors have been doing with a view to protect his image and dignity.
But making such over in the midst of the society amount to adding salt to injury going by how his overwhelmingly popularity has now been dented in view of his eight years misrule stressing the need for him to have an advisory team as so doing will help him in digesting statements before making them public.
It would be recalled that the statement made in joyous mood by the former president before his teeming lovers at his residence in Daura on a thank you call is now generating anger, disbelief wild condemnation and accusation from the generality who were formerly his avid fans.
