Absolutely, for the first time since the establishment of Kano Pillars Football Team in 1990 they would not play in the final of Federation
This followed their defeat by National league side Bichi First by four goals to two on penalties early this morning in the semis final stage of the tournament
The team had earlier played a scoreless draw with the club Friday afternoon thus the completion of the remaining part of the match was shifted to Saturday morning due lack of flood light at the stadium
When the shoot out started Bichi First were able to convert four of their kicks while the defending champions scored two
The team from Bichi were declared winners following how the duel ended
Bichi First will now meet Barau Football Team in the final to decide who will emerge champions of the state zonal championship
It would be recalled that Pillars have never been eliminated in the last four as they once lost to defunct Dantata United in the final of the event at Pillars Stadium Sabon Gari during the early days of its formation but since then nothing similar had ever happened in its history
Based on the sad development, which teeming fans will pray it will serve as a blessing in disguise they would now have to fully concentrate on their remaining matches in the Premiership with a view to scaling through from relegation challenges as the league is coming to a close by next month
