The Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Hon. Ali Musa Danmaliki, has pledged to address the challenges facing the Ja’oji community.
Danmaliki made the commitment during a meeting with the District Head of Ja’oji, ward heads, Islamic clerics and other stakeholders from the area.
Speaking at the meeting, the District Head, Malam Sulaiman Shu’aibu, congratulated the chairman and presented key demands of the community.
These include the expansion of the town’s healthcare facility and the provision of a police station, which is under threat of closure due to lack of office space.
He also called for the establishment of a girls’ school, provision of solar-powered electricity and a reliable water supply system to address the acute water shortage in the area.
Similarly, Malam Musa Shu’aibu commended the chairman’s efforts and urged improved security in view of the deteriorating situation, as well as stronger collaboration with companies to create employment opportunities for youths.
In his contribution, Malam Mudassir Auwal appealed for increased support to mosques and Islamic schools, stressing the importance of religious education in addressing moral challenges.
The Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Basarake, assured participants that their concerns had been noted and would be addressed.
In his remarks, Danmaliki said officials had already been deployed to assess the challenges even before the meeting. He directed that a formal request be forwarded to the governor seeking approval for the execution of the proposed projects.
“Be assured, Insha Allah, we will tackle the challenges facing Ja’oji community,” he said.
The chairman also urged residents to continue praying for the government and to support its programmes, particularly by participating in voter registration and the electoral process.
