By Sa’id Husain Abdullahi
Ramadan calls you back to yourself.
Many people are busy with others —
their faults, their lives, their matters —
while their own souls are neglected.
One of the signs of a sound heart
is leaving what does not concern you.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
*مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلَامِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لَا يَعْنِيهِ*
_“Part of the excellence of a person’s Islam is leaving what does not concern him.”_
— Jami at-Tirmidhi (ḥasan)
Ramadan is your opportunity to ask:
How is my prayer?
How is my tongue?
How is my heart?
Fix yourself first.
That is where change begins.
