In light of the glaring injustice exposed in JAMB’s selective exam retake policy, I join voices with other concerned Nigerians to call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to urgently intervene.
It is abundantly clear that the 2025 JAMB exercise has been tainted by unequal treatment, lack of transparency, and regional bias. The decision to limit retake opportunities to candidates from Lagos and the South East—while ignoring equally affected students in the North and other regions—is an affront to the principles of equity, justice, and national cohesion.
Therefore, I strongly urge the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Education, to cancel the 2025 JAMB examination in its entirety and order a fresh, nationwide Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Only a comprehensive retake will restore confidence in the examination process, ensure fairness for all candidates, and uphold the spirit of the Federal Character principle.
We cannot build a united nation on a foundation of selective justice. All Nigerian students—regardless of their region—deserve equal opportunity to compete on a level playing field. Anything short of this is an endorsement of discrimination and an invitation to unrest.
Let justice prevail. Let fairness be restored. Let the 2025 JAMB be reset for all.
Interestingly, we were among the pioneering students who sat for the first-ever JAMB examination in 1978—yet most of us never got to know our result.
