Former international Emmanuel Amuneke has been appointed to oversee the affairs of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Amuneke’s appointment followed the resignation in February of Portuguese Jose Paseiro who formerly lead the National side.
The Coach was part of history making Atlanta 1996 Olympic Gold winning soccer team.
Amuneke who plied his trade for Barcelona, Zamalek and Sporting Lisbon and Albiceste ,tutored Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to lift Under seventeen world championship.
He groomed Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze during his days at the junior level.
But despite his superlative effort while at Golden Eaglets and Taifa Stars of Tanzania where he broke a forty year jinx by qualifying the country to 2019 nations cup, his time at Zanaco of Zambia and Almisrelel Makassa of Egypt and Flying Eagles was totally condemned.
Born in 1970 Amuneke will be assisted by former international Finidi George who is managing Enyimba of Aba at present.
