An open Letter to KEDCO

It has now become apparent that whenever Ramadan approaches the Muslim Community will experience serious Electricity outage
Despite several pledges made on the matter by the authorities concerned year in year out but surprisingly the situation continues unabated
This is clean and clear going by the present circumstances which is posing additional hardship as the community is few hours away from commencing the annual month long ibadat
If one could recall there was a time during the late Umar Yar’adua ‘s regime that a whole minister after assuming office vowed to do the needful on the problem aimed at ensuring the Muslim faithful observed the period outage free but at the end it proved to be a pipe dream
Rightly speaking it is so itchy and sad that one section of the community are feeling the brunt during their festive period whereby otherwise is the case for others in a secular society like ours
In my own perception and knowledge ,public outfits like Electricity firms were established or created for the general good of one and all irrespective of
religious ,tribal ,sectional and political affiliations or interest
Unequivocally, when such aim was defeated or missing there must be a loophole across the wider locality hence misunderstanding and hatred ensued
Fasting time is a moment when the Ummah are direly in need of something cold to break their ibadat but when such is impractical the situation will be gloomy
