Newly promoted Barau Football Club are beginning to give a good account of themselves as Nigeria’s premier league is progressing
On Monday afternoon playing in an empty stadium in the heart of Kano city, the team pounded visiting Enugu Rangers from South Eastern Nigeria by two unreplied goals
The goals were netted in each of the two halves by the Kano side fondly called Maliya Boys
The victory brought joy and happiness to soccer loving people of pyramid City who were highly provoked over the humiliating positions the two clubs representing the state including Pillars and Barau are occupying in the on going domestic premier League which is discouraging and nothing to write home about
Thus , with the victory ,the Maliya Boys now have thirteen points and definitely if things improved ,and provided, the home side whipped Rivers United in their remaining one outstanding match on Wednesday at home they would necessarily get off the murky waters of relegation with sixteen points in their kitty
