A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State, Surajo Mamud Gaya (Barde), has congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on his decision to join the APC.
Barde described the move as courageous and timely, noting that it would significantly enhance Kano State’s political influence by improving access to federal power, strengthening the state’s voice in national affairs, and translating into greater prosperity and improved welfare for the people.
He said the decision further reinforces Governor Yusuf’s impressive record of infrastructure development across the state, which has earned him public confidence through effective service delivery.
The APC chieftain made this known in a press release issued to media outlets in Kano, stressing that leadership requires the courage to take decisions in the long-term interest of the people. He noted that Governor Yusuf has demonstrated such leadership by prioritising peace, stability, and progress.
Barde expressed confidence that the governor’s experience, popularity, and political influence would further strengthen the APC in Kano State and contribute positively to peace, stability, and development.
He added that the political realignment would support the effective implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in areas such as security, agriculture, job creation, and youth empowerment, while also improving intergovernmental relations and access to federal programmes and investments needed for sustainable development.
