Isyaku Ibrahim
Benin Warlords Bendel Insurance with this afternoon at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium formerly Ogbe Stadium test the might of Kano Pillars
The encounter from all indication is expected to be harsh going by the how the two sides are direly in need of the vital points with a view to improving their stand on the log
Historically, right from the period of towering defender Victor Oduah,David Adiele,Lawrence Okpokona and others match between the Benin team and Kano teams particularly Raccah Rovers parading stars like Abubakar Muhammed alias field Marshal Anas Ahmed old but clever Hussein Alabi usually proved to be dicey
But time now has changed and the league is now Premier Competition unlike before that was National League
Thus the match could go to either side particularly as the level of officiating is vastly improving this year
It is now left on Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa and Pillars permanent Skipper Rabiu Ali to do the needful so as to make their supporters happy as the team’s away record was not all that encouraging
Our prayers is for the referee to be impartial in guiding the game doing this will by no means add colour to the competition and improve the image of the officials and above boost the name of the country as one of the power house of the round leather game
