Kannywood actor Yusuf Sulaiman Bosho has described the empowerment programme for tea sellers, popularly known as Masu Shayi, initiated by Nestlé Milo as a welcome development capable of improving small businesses across the country.
Bosho made the commendation during the Masu Shayi programme held in Kano on Saturday.
According to him, the support provided to tea sellers would help strengthen and expand their businesses within their communities.
“Supporting them with tools such as gas cookers, cups, ingredients, among others, is a great motivation in their day-to-day businesses,” he said.
He called on other corporate organisations in the country to emulate Nestlé Milo by supporting small businesses and contributing to their growth across the country.
In her remarks, Milo Ambassador Mansura Isa expressed satisfaction with the company’s support for less-privileged customers, saying the initiative would go a long way in motivating beneficiaries and improving their businesses.
Isa urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the opportunity to expand and grow their businesses within their communities.
She commended the company for introducing the empowerment programme and assured that more initiatives were in the pipeline to support and improve the businesses of its customers across Nigeria, West Africa and Africa.
Speaking at the event, Category Manager of Nestlé Milo, Mr Gilbert Teenaboah Koduah, said the company had been making concerted efforts to support its customers and develop their businesses in their respective communities.
He assured the beneficiaries that the company would continue to contribute to socio-economic development in the country through various support initiatives.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the management and staff of Nestlé Milo for the gesture and pledged to continue patronising its products.
