Federal College of Education Kano Chapel of Academic Staff Union, COEASU, has chided those behind the establishment of Academic Staff Union of Universities in the College
Chairman of the Chapter Comrade Ado Muhammad Abdullahi made the castigation in an interface with Periscope On Line in his office.
He described it as childish the character exhibited by the so called Academics as one cannot count his chickens before they were hatched
The Chairman who said they are not against the idea of converting the famous institution to a university as it will ensure rapid progression to the state and north as a whole in view of how we have been lagging behind in the scheme of things but one has to be patient recalling a proverb that says slow and steady wins race the hence the need for the need for decorum maturity and orderly
He added that “we are in a transition process and in no time this College that has been renamed Yusuf Maitama Sule College of Education will be upgraded to the status of University of Education”
Comrade Ado Muhammad Abdullahi however distances the outfit from the planned removal of the Acting Vice chancellor of the Institution as made mentioned by one Dr Bashir Mohammed of the fake Asuu describing the statement as affront, baseless,unfounded,fake and above all figment of the imagination
He maintained that a disciplinary action will be taking on the said lecturers over the matter with a view to reaping what they sowed
The posited that a petition would be conveyed before the Minister of Education over the situation particularly on the planned removal of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the College by the bogus Union
The Chairman said while the Chapel remains the only solid, United and recognised Academic body of the School ,he enjoined the wider community to disregard statements earlier made by the officials of the non existing organisation as according to him are confusing ,ridiculous, untrue and self centred
It however thanked fellow members for their active support in that respect hoping the tempo will be sustained as according to him United we stand divided we fall
