Kano State Commissioner of Information Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Waiya says over nine hundred projects are under construction statewide courtesy of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf
The State Government spokesman made the declaration in an interaction with the Forum of state Directors of Public Enlightenment on a courtesy visit
He charged them to use their positions, wealth of experience and skills in publicising the work of the Government to the wider community with a view to ensuring the ends justify the means as some of the people are not aware of the progression so far made during the last couple of years
This he said became imperative as without the synergy nothing encouraging will be attained in that respect as most of the outfits shouldering such works excluding Works and Health were silent on the matter
Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Waiya who reiterated his resolve in working closely with the officers as according to him2026, is more critical being a period in which elections will be held let alone a huge budget in the history of the state presented urged them to use their level of professionalism being the image makers of their various Departments in observing their spelt out responsibilities
The mouthpiece stated that sooner rather than later Kano media policy will be issued out
He nevertheless expressed delight over the formation of the forum underscoring the need for more areas of additional working relationship so as to achieve set goals and objectives
Comrade Waiya described them as masters in the field of information dissemination calling on them to be computer literate so as not to be left behind in the scheme of things
On his part,the interim Chairman of the Forum Comrade Isma’il Gwammaja, expressed happiness over how the Commissioner received them with open arms despite the short notice
He moreover hailed him over how he rejuvenated the ministry within an inch an act he said that shows his level of seriousness and passion
The Chairman maintained that they will continue to appreciate his effort as the chronology of the ministry’s commissioners will not be complete without mentioning his name
Comrade Gwammaja further described him as one of the most populous commissioners in present state cabinet enjoining him to organise capacity building workshops for fellow Directors and register them with other professional bodies with a view to becoming more abreast in their respective fields
