Fresh from securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Doma United FC have commenced preparations for the 2025/2026 season with the unveiling of Coach Deji Ayeni as the club’s new Technical Adviser.
The Savannah Tigers are aiming to make a strong statement on their return to the top flight and have moved swiftly to strengthen their technical crew ahead of the new campaign.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Suleiman Umar, popularly known as Mai Doma, expressed confidence in Ayeni’s ability to lead the team, citing his vast experience, tactical knowledge and track record of building competitive sides.
He said the appointment was part of the club’s efforts to position itself for a successful NPFL campaign and ensure stability within the technical department.
Umar also disclosed that Coach Najib Mabo, who guided the club back to the NPFL, will continue to play a key role in the team’s technical setup.
According to him, Mabo remains an integral member of the coaching crew and is currently pursuing the necessary coaching certifications required to manage a club in the elite division.
With pre-season activities already underway, players and officials are expected to intensify preparations as Doma United seek to consolidate their status in the NPFL and compete favourably among the country’s top-flight teams.
The appointment of Ayeni comes as part of a broader restructuring process by the club aimed at strengthening its foundations and enhancing its competitiveness following its return to the NPFL.
