As part of its efforts to encourage civic responsibility, the Dambatta Local Government Council has called on all eligible voters to ensure they register in order to participate effectively in upcoming elections.
The Council Chairman, Alhaji Jamilu Abubakar, made this appeal while addressing a large gathering during a public event highlighting the council’s achievements in Gwarabjawa town.
Alhaji Jamilu Abubakar revealed that arrangements are at an advanced stage to ensure that only registered voters will be shortlisted and trained under the local government’s empowerment and skills acquisition programmes, which are conducted on a monthly basis.
He explained that the initiative aims to motivate eligible voters to exercise their constitutional rights and actively engage in the democratic process.
Also speaking at the event, the Local Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Hamisu Musa Malanta, emphasized that the skills acquisition and empowerment programmes are designed to reduce unemployment among women and youths, thereby promoting socio-economic development at the grassroots level.
He commended former Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the current Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Council Chairman Alhaji Jamilu Abubakar for their vision and effective implementation of developmental initiatives within the Dambatta community.
