Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has cautioned members of the State Executive Council against disloyalty, internal rivalry, and the unauthorized disclosure of official government information, stressing that such actions will no longer be tolerated.
The statement, signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, was issued on yesterday.
The warning came during the 38th Executive Council meeting, where Governor Yusuf urged cabinet members to remain united and committed to the administration’s goals for the progress of Kano State.
Governor Yusuf explained that recent political developments informed his decision, in consultation with key stakeholders, to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the interest of the state’s development and to foster stronger collaboration with the Federal Government.
He also confirmed that five commissioners had resigned following the political realignment, noting that four of them stepped down after declining to join the APC. The affected ministries include Humanitarian Affairs, Youth, Internal Security, and Special Duties.
The governor accepted their resignations and wished them success in their future endeavors.
In addition, Governor Yusuf announced the removal of the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, and confirmed the appointment of Bilkisu Shehu Maimota as Acting Head of Service.
He urged her to promote discipline, unity, and professionalism within the state civil service.
