By Sa’id Husain Abdullahi
And you have departed, O best of months, bidding farewell,
While I remain hopeful of meeting you again.
Yesterday, we wondered: Will we reach your fast?
Today, we grieve: Why do you not linger a little longer?
I will live in the shelter of hope, supplicating
That you return like rain, pouring down glad tidings.
And my heart returns to life, renewed,
While the soul is intoxicated by the drink of divine gifts.
And today is the last night of your departure,
Yet from our souls, you never truly leave.
So forgive, O my Lord, what has passed of our lives,
And honour a poor servant drawing from Your generosity.
🌹May your morning be filled with goodness and forgiveness.🌹
