It was Friday afternoon a story that was first regarded as fake news started filling the air of the wider environment on Dr Umar Ganduje’s resignation as National Chairman of ruling APC
The story was later confirmed that the two term Governor of Kano has abdicated the hot seat
The development,to disciples of the game of politics did not come as a surprise as it is a game of two colours that is used and dumped
Profoundly what one would say is thatthe assignment of Dr Ganduje had finished as such he has to stay aside and leave the gate for a new hand as part of the main doctrines of politics entails hypocrisy and deception
Although certain reasons chief among them health issues were cited on the resignation but to followers of recent events in the field they would describe it as bitter truth as they were being said to cover the genuine aspect of the story
To say the fact doing away with the National Chairman of the ruling party in Nigeria context particularly with the advent of the fourth republic is not a natural phenomenon going by what transpired during the sixteen years of PDP administration where such people were changed like exchanging baton in a relay quartet by athletes
Thus as the time of Ganduje is now up this reminded me of an idioms that says anything that has a beginning must surely has an end and anything has its appointed time
If one could recall there was a time when former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido says Ganduje is as good as quitting APC and reuniting with the PDP which was vehemently denied by the former Chairman
As this had happened,we shall wait and see what will be the next plan of action before we jump to conclusion as politics is defined as who gets what when and how
The job will now be heavy on him in view of the upsurge of political animosity in Kano
The question to be asked now is could he mend the ongoing fences between him and his former master Senator Kwankwaso or honourably leave the stage as what matters in Nigerian context is one that is on the exalted seat not who sacrificed his life towards the development of a party is one that is rightly regarded and accorded all the esteem, recognition and relevance
Historically we are living witnesses over what happened recently to John Odigie, Adams Oshiomhole ,Abdullahi Adamu and now Ganduje the matter will not end here as more are on the line as far as politics is concerned
