The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sustain the unity and harmony within the party to support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in achieving his Kano First Agenda.
Garo made the call while receiving members of the Forum of Immediate Past Party Executives in Kano State, who paid him a courtesy visit at his office to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a reflection of the enduring bond, unity and commitment among party members.
He commended the forum for its role in fostering cohesion within the party, noting that the legacy of unity established by the former executives continues to strengthen the APC.
“Your legacy, which nurtured togetherness in the party, is still being enjoyed today and has continued to strengthen the party, a development that attracted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the APC,” Garo said.
He called for sustained cooperation among party members, stressing that continued unity would go a long way in helping Governor Yusuf realise his Kano First Agenda, aimed at accelerating the development of the state.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and former Deputy Chairman of the party, Alhaji Shehu Maigari, said the visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor on his appointment.
Maigari explained that the forum was established to sustain support for the APC in Kano State and across the country.
“Your Excellency, this forum is for you and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, as our maximum support is dedicated to the progress of Kano State,” he said.
He expressed satisfaction with the Deputy Governor’s performance since assuming office, adding that members of the forum were optimistic that he would continue to support Governor Yusuf in delivering on his mandate.
“We are pleased with the commitment demonstrated by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, since assuming office. We have high hopes that he will help Governor Yusuf deliver on his mandate,” Maigari added.
Also speaking, a former APC Chairman in Kano North, Alhaji Sani Muqadas, said the delegation was in the Deputy Governor’s office to celebrate with him and pray for divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
“We are here to celebrate with you and pray to Allah to guide you in all your affairs,” Muqadas said.
Describing Garo as a compassionate and humanitarian leader, Muqadas assured him of the forum’s continued support for the state government, pledging to provide all necessary assistance while keeping the administration informed of developments that would contribute to the progress of the state.
