Football pundits say the beauty of the round leather game lies with scoring goals
Definitely, this is true but it did not stop at netting goals alone but rather lifting trophies
Soccer greats namely king Pele,Maradona,Messi , Ronaldo senior and junior,Ronaldinho among others made name ,recognition and prestige not only due to how they scored goals but also winning competitions
The two normally go together as they complement each other as strikers that have not won trophies for their teams no matter how composed they are, are regarded as half baked
English National Team captain otherwise called the Green Flag , Harry Kane despite being one of most prolific scorers in the history of the game having won all accolades as a top striker from domestic to continental events but yet has not been recognised as one of the best central attackers in the game history
The reason was simply due to his failure to grab a trophy for any his tems be it at the country and club sides level regardless of the fact that he played in the final of all major soccer tournaments excluding the world cup
The situation will sooner than later come to pass as his present team Bayern Munich are on the verge of winning German Bundesliga
Which slipped from their hands last year
The Bavarians as the Munich side are fondly called are ahead of their closest rivals Bayer Leverkusen by six points as the competition enters week twenty nine
Thus, any slight mistake by the defending champions will lead to handing the Cup to where it belongs in the past provided they also have not fumbled on the road
This development, will profoundly erase the Ill feeling, mockery, whispering and contempt the England Skipper has been facing for years across the length and breadth of soccer world
