In a decisive move to uphold discipline and protect the integrity of public office, the Executive Chairman of Kabo Local Government, Hon. Lawan Najume, has approved the immediate dismissal of two advisers following acts of misconduct at an official state function.
The affected officials—Hon. Sani Salisu Gude, Adviser on Commerce and Investment, and Isa Samaila Kanye, Adviser on Support Services—were relieved of their duties after exhibiting behavior deemed inappropriate and inconsistent with the standards expected of public office holders.
The incident reportedly occurred at the Government House in Kano during a formal reception hosted by the State Governor. Their conduct at the high-profile event was considered a serious breach of decorum, particularly in the presence of senior government officials and distinguished guests.
Sources within the council indicate that the Chairman viewed the actions of the two advisers as unacceptable and damaging to the image of the local government and the broader public service. Their behavior was said to have caused embarrassment and undermined the dignity of the administration.
Hon. Lawan Najume reiterated that his administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward indiscipline, misconduct, and any actions capable of bringing the government into disrepute, regardless of an individual’s position or affiliation.
He further emphasized that all political appointees must uphold the highest standards of respect, responsibility, and professionalism in both the discharge of their duties and their public conduct.
The Chairman assured the public that the decision was taken in the interest of good governance and to strengthen accountability within the system. He warned that any official found wanting in conduct or performance will face appropriate sanctions, as his administration remains committed to excellence, transparency, and integrity in public service.
