The Kano State House of Assembly has received six commissioner nominees forwarded by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointment into the State Executive Council.
The nominees are Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u (Rtd.), Dr. Sani Lawan, Hon. Ibrahim Namadi Dala, Hon. Muktar Ishaq Yakasai, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa and Hon. Idris Garba Mustafa.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore, announced this on Tuesday after reading a letter from the governor on the floor of the House.
Falgore said the nominations are to fill vacant positions and ensure effective running of ministries, adding that the House has fixed next Monday for screening of the nominees.
In another development, the Assembly has suspended the member representing Nassarawa Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Bello Aliyu, for three months over alleged misconduct.
The suspension followed a viral video circulating on social media and the presentation of a report by the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges chaired by Hon. Shehu Garba Fammar, member representing Kibiya Constituency.
