The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured that his administration will extend maximum support and cooperation to the newly elected Chairman of the APC in Kano, Honourable Umar Haruna Doguwa, along with all other executive members of the party.
The Governor made this statement during the 38th Executive Council meeting when the newly elected APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa—formerly the Commissioner for Water Resources—paid a farewell visit to the Council.
The announcement was contained in a press release issued on Thursday by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Governor Yusuf commended Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa for his significant contributions to the educational sector, particularly his role in the declaration of a state of emergency in education.
He noted that Doguwa’s tenure on the Executive Council had been highly impactful, and although his departure was emotional, his new position as APC Chairman will further advance the development of the state.
In his remarks, the newly elected APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, stated that the party is in safe hands and called for continued loyalty from council members to both the Governor and the APC.
He affirmed that decamping to the APC was a strategic decision and pledged full support for Governor Yusuf’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, the Commissioner for Education, Haruna Ali Makoda, and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Special Needs, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi (popularly known as Amina HOD), praised Hon. Doguwa for his integrity, dedication, and resilience in politics.
