Pyramid City side, Kano Pillars Football Club will test the might of Sunshine of Akure today at Area 3 pitch Abuja to determine who enters the semi final stage of the 2024 Federation Cup
Both teams will not toy with the game as it is their last hope of earning a continental ticket during the upcoming soccer season
The encounter is expected to be explosive as the clubs must surely apply whatever experience they have with a view to emerging victorious
While Pillars are the favourite to win the trophy going by the number of teams that remained in the event, and those they eliminated, but this is not the yardstick of judging Clubs hence should not fold their arms in that regard as they would be taken by surprise
Thus, interim coachi Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro who was last week robbed of a point in Ikenne as a result of bad officiating against Remo Stars in the league, has to tighten his belt with a review to repeating his superb effort over Katsina United last Wednesday at New Jos International Stadium Plateau State in the last 16 of the Federation Cup
Definitely, scaling through to the last four will brighten their chances of lifting the trophy as it is a fact that the club usually play well in the competition rathet than the premier league although they were only able to win it once
Thus, it is left to be seen whether skipper Rabiu Ali Pele and fellow players will redouble effort in order to make their fans and people of the state happy during the match
Rightly speaking, you have the massive backing and prayers of the Government and good people of Kano in the task before you what remains is for you to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring the ends justify the means as a phrase says kindness begets kindness
Devoid of hesitation, Coach Kennedy Boboye and his lads will not be traveling from far away Akure in the South West to Abuja just for site seeing or Tea Party but serious business particularly as they went to Gombe in North east last week and defeated home boys Gombe United by two unreplied goals at Pantami Stadium in the premier league before their teeming supporters a lost that confirmed the host demotion to National League next year
Football, analysts say has no godfather
Till we meet next
