There is the glaring possibility that Kano one of the power houses of soccer Lovers in the country may for the first time in history have two teams playing in the premiership
The development followed the scoreless draw Barau Football Club pulled yesterday against host Mighty Jets at New Jos Stadium in Plateau State in the last match of this year’s National League
The singular effort accord them the ticket to feature in super eight a mini league organised for champions of eight National League winners to determine the best four that would play in the top flight next season
Definitely,if this becomes practical,it will be the first time in the history of Kano that two clubs will vie for honours in the top flight
Thus, it would be for the good of football or sports development in the state as it would create avenues for additional opportunities for the upcoming generations hence improves competition among clubs not only between the big two but rather the rest of the sides as has been the case in other climes
But for now the ultimate wish is to ensure the Kano side that is Barau, scale through to the upper class as the battle has not been completed yet
Certainly,if the fight is finally won and the club from Kano emerged among the four promoted sides, football fans in the pyramid city will next soccer season shine their eyes and watch all the top flight teams twice in the ancient city as they will be here on two occasions
