Katsina State Government has set aside over 398 million naira to be disbursed as Sallah gift to intending pilgrims from the state at the Holy Land.
This was in addition to the payment of 578 million naira for animal sacrifice
Governor Radda who made the benevolence while biding the entourage bye at the state capital
.
He used the occasion to urge the contingent to pray for peace and unity to reign supreme in the state and the country at large
The Governor as usual, charged them to be good ambassadors of the state and the country.
He also asked them to pray for the success of his administration particularly in its effort towards fighting insecurity facing the state.
The Chief Executive, commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the befitting arrangements made to ensure the successful conduct of the religious exercise
While applauding the commitment of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board in coordinating the operation, Malam Radda also advised the intending pilgrims to abide by the rules and regulations set by the Saudi authorities.
The Governor congratulated the 2,760 delegation for being chosen by Allah to perform the practice , which is one of the five pillars of Islam.
Also speaking, the State Amirul Hajj, who was a former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, said good arrangements had been made by the board aimed at attaining premium goal and lauded the Governor for his commitment and tirelessness
Speaking similarly, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, who is also Sarkin Alhazan Katsina, commended Governor Dikko Umar Radda for giving them the opportunity to exercise their mandate without interference.
He assured the Governor that they would justify the confidence placed on them by ensuring a hitch-free Hajj exercise.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama, expressed appreciation to the Governor for his support in ensuring proper arrangements
Alhaji Dankama said the State Government had supported the i pilgrims in the areas of accommodation, animal sacrifice and above all mobility to ease transportation hitches
In his address yandakan Katsina Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada thanked the Governor for matching words with actions
Tense of the occasion was the presentation of visas and basic traveling allowances to the entourage .
