The Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Dr. Mani Tsoho Gwarzo, has supervised the distribution of ₦50,000 business grants to women beneficiaries under the Kano State Government’s Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme.
The distribution, which took place at the Islamic Centre in Gwarzo on Thursday, was conducted in line with the directive of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as part of the state’s monthly business grant initiative aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs and promoting economic self-reliance.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Mani said the programme reflects the governor’s commitment to improving the economic wellbeing of women by providing sustainable opportunities for them to expand their businesses and become financially independent.
He said the local government would continue to ensure that intervention programmes are implemented with transparency, fairness and accountability to enable the intended beneficiaries to benefit.
The chairman urged the beneficiaries to invest the grants wisely to grow their businesses, increase their incomes and improve the welfare of their families.
Some of the beneficiaries commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Gwarzo Local Government chairman for the initiative, describing it as timely and capable of improving the livelihoods of many women in the area.
The Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme is part of the Kano State Government’s efforts to reduce poverty, stimulate economic growth and support small-scale entrepreneurs through targeted empowerment initiatives.
