Drector of Dawanau National Psychiatric Hospital, Dr Auwal Sani Salihu in company of a delegation of his subordinates were at Gaya Emirate Palace to pay a homage
Speaking Dr Auwal described the purpose of the visit as to strengthen the existing relationship between the hospital and the chiefdom as well as to raise awareness about mental health issues.
The visitor discussed thoroughly on the subject matter and the need for the wider to be seeking professionalls advice rather than quackeries and the need to avoid sellf medication
He thanked the Mornarch for receiving them with open arms wishing the existing rapport wiill wax stronger
In his address, the Royal Father, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulqadir described the visit as a significant step towards promoting mental health awareness and by no means assist in reducing the rate of stigma being meted to such patients in the Emirate.
Dr Aliyu Ibrahim expressed his appreciation over the meaningful discussion held with the team on how best to improve access to mental health services in the Chiefdom and surrounding localities
